What topics will I work on?

Depending on the challenge that you are joining, you will dive deeper into the respective topic. Our challenges feature a broad range of different fields within our three pillows Sustainabilty, Basics and Data. You can choose your track depending on interest and expertise.


Who can apply?

Students, PhDs, post docs and all interested people from all disciplines are welcome. We want to build heterogeneous teams with students with business and technical expertise, but also experts in design and other disciplines and are looking for bright minds in their field. Ideally, you already have some experience and are in an advanced bachelor's or master's semester and have already gained some experience through internships and work-study activities.


How and by whom are the results evaluated?

A jury of business and technology experts from Saint-Gobain as well as external experts and entrepreneurs will evaluate your idea / solution, based on several criteria such as innovativeness, maturity or suitable business case for Saint-Gobain and will nominate a winning team.


Can I win anything?

Of course: there will be prize money of – in total – more than 2.000 €. If you convince your challenge owners, they might even be offering internships and job opportunities.


What does the application process look like?

Our creation sprint is an application-only event. Please apply via our website, we will screen each application thoroughly. Our decision is based on your expertise as well as a fit to the track and the rest of the team. We will let you know soon after closing our application phase if you’ll be part of this amazing opportunity. We have limited space, and if we do not choose you – please don’t worry, you can still become part of our community later on and join future events and hackathons.


What will be the outcome of my work?

On the last day you will present the final results of your work in a brief pitch to our jury and as well as to selected guests in a brief pitch. Focus should be on a stringent solution of a real problem and how you want to tackle this for Saint-Gobain. Of course, we will announce a rwinning team, and there will be prizes. Solutions suitable to realize our mission of paving the way for future mobility will be carried on within Saint-Gobain Sekurit.


What do I need to bring?

Just bring your laptop, if you have your team mates and a happy innovators attitude.


What if I’m hungry or thirsty?

Drinks, food and snacks during the whole event will be provided by us – nothing you have to care about!


How can I find a team?

If you don’t have a team yet, just apply and we will create a diverse team. If you have already found potential team members before you apply, ideally building a diverse team, just let us know their names in the application mask so that we can try to follow your suggestion.


Where does the event take place?

The event will take place physically in our User Experience Lab at the Saint-Gobain Research Center, Glasstraße 1, 52134 Herzogenrath.


How about COVID-19?

We take the pandemic very seriously! Therefore, we will decide on the regulations based on the situation given at the time of the event. You will be informed beforehand.


Do I need to attend all days?

To give you the best experience, to work on real problems and in order to create sustainable solutions suitable for our challenges it is necessary, that you attend all days with your full brain power! However, if you start to feel sick before or during the event, please let us know and stay at home.
